BP oil spill is probably the greatest environmental disaster US has faced. According to Jeffrey Short, an environmental chemist "Its difficult to do a thorough charting on what the impacts are". So far,louisiana has been the most impacted and have been sited of "no life". The explosion that happened did not just killed 11 people but is also threatening seafood industries,basically the oceans wildlife. As for David Hollander , an oceanographer, the dispersants has extracted petroleum from crude and is now combined into the waters with solvents and detergents. Researchers also found plumes or derivatives of oil. This case both may have short term or long term effect to the environment.
